Ultrasound in Higher Education and Schools

We have developed devices and experimental setups on the subject of ultrasound for university and technical college education. In doing so, we were able to use our diverse experiences in the supervision of students in the physics practical course and thus enable a practical training of students in the field of ultrasound. In addition, our ultrasonic devices can be used for various measurement purposes in research, industry or economy.

Ultrasound in Higher Education – Experimental Set

Our sets show different ways in which ultrasound can be used in higher education. Each set can be used to perform various experiments on specific topics related to ultrasound. Because all sets can be combined or extended with other products in our range, individual learning is possible for students. In our overview you will find links to the experiments that are possible with the respective set.

Our ultrasound experiments EchoSet and ImageSet are designed for education in schools. With various test objects, students can explore basic phenomena of ultrasound physics and their technical use in medicine and industry. For more information, check out our store for details on the experiments.

Ultrasound in Higher Education – Equipment and Materials

Here you will find our ultrasonic measuring devices and setups with corresponding accessories. In addition to the device description and technical data, our overview also provides links to the experimens that are possible with the respective device.

The article list contains images and short descriptions of all equipment (e.g. the ultrasonic echoscope GS200) for the experiments to the topics A-Scan image, B-Scan image, computer tomography (CT), NDT and links to manuals or directions for use.

Next to the ultrasonic cw generator SC600 the following list contains images and short descriptions of all equipment for the experiments to the topics acousto-optics and power ultrasonics and links to manuals and use directions.

Here you can find a list with images and short descriptions of all equipment (e.g. ultrasonic pulse Doppler FlowDop) the for the experiments to the topics flow, Doppler sonography and the links to manuals and use directions.

This list contains images and short descriptions of all equipment for the experiments to the topics computed tomography (CT), ultrasonic scan methods and links to manuals.

Ultrasound in Higher Education – Experiments

We have organized the experiments that are possible with our ultrasonic devices into three areas: Physics, Medicine and Industry. All setups are examples that can be combined and/or extended as desired. Thus, short ultrasound basics as well as complex topics can be covered with the experiments in the university practical course.

PHY (Physics): The basics of generation, propagation and interaction of ultrasound and the principles of ultrasonic methods here are treated. It includes simple echography methods, sound velocity and absorption measurements or Doppler methods. Furthermore complex experiments like the Debye Sears effect or shear waves are covered.

MED (Medicine): The field includes examples of ultrasonic experiments to medical topics. These are next to echographic methods like TM mode and B-Scan also blood flow measurements using Doppler sonography.

IND (Industry): This field covers industrial applications of ultrasound. The focus lays on the different methods of non-destructive testing and quality control.
