Centrifugal Pump MultiFlow2

NEW and available soon: Fluid pump for generating, controlling, and simulating various flow patterns, for college laboratory courses, medical technology, and bioengineering

The MultiFlow2 is a compact centrifugal pump designed for the precise generation, control, and simulation of various flow profiles. It has been specifically developed for use in education, research, and simulation, enabling the flexible setup of different flow circuits. The pump can be operated directly via a touchscreen or conveniently through a browser-based user interface.

A key feature is the modular pump head system. Wear parts can be replaced by the user, eliminating the need to send the pump in for servicing. In addition, custom flow curves can be imported and reproduced consistently. The range of functions can be expanded through software and firmware updates via the browser.

Areas of Application

The MultiFlow2 is particularly suitable for applications in fluid mechanics, flow measurement, Doppler sonography, and hemodynamics. In fluid mechanics, both continuous and pulsatile flows can be generated at different flow rates. This makes it possible to investigate flow phenomena as well as laminar and turbulent flow behavior.

For Doppler sonography, cardiac function can be simulated using pulsatile flow profiles. Three standard pulse waveforms are available, along with adjustable pulse durations and peak flow rates, allowing changes in heart rate and blood pressure to be reproduced.

In flow measurement applications, the pump provides a defined reference flow for the characterization, calibration, and validation of flow sensors. This enables the calibration of flow meters, comparison of different measurement principles, and speed-to-flow calibration.

For hemodynamic applications, clinically relevant blood flow profiles can be simulated. Custom waveforms also allow pathological flow patterns to be reproduced. This makes the system suitable for medically oriented laboratory experiments as well as hands-on training in clinical ultrasound diagnostics.
