The ultrasonic hydrophone from the PH series of piezo hydrophones is the perfect choice for the reliable detection of ultrasonic signals – even in the presence of strong interference. With its high-quality ceramic sensor element, it has been specially developed for analyzing the sound output of cosmetic ultrasonic devices. Non-medical ultrasonic devices operate in the frequency range from 20 kHz to 5 MHz and cover sound power levels from a few milliwatts to several watts.
Robust design and superior signal sensitivity
The PH hydrophones are equipped with a durable PEEK housing that includes an integrated mounting bracket for easy positioning. Without an additional preamplifier, the hydrophone achieves 30-40 dB higher signal sensitivity than conventional diaphragm or needle hydrophones. Thanks to the double-shielded cable, it also ensures excellent EMC safety, ideal for measurements in environments prone to interference.
Versatile areas of application
The Piezo hydrophone impresses with its robust design, easy handling and excellent signal-to-noise ratio. It is particularly suitable for measurements under difficult EMC conditions. Due to the size of the active element and the wide frequency range, it is ideal for sound measurement in the following applications:
– Cosmetic ultrasonic devices: Precise analysis for aesthetic purposes
– Ultrasound therapy devices: Reliable sound characterization
– Ultrasound Doppler devices: Use with vascular and fetal Doppler systems
– Cosmetic HIFU devices: Support for lipolysis applications
(Care must be taken when using the piezohydrophone to record HIFU signals: Cavitations must be avoided as they can permanently damage the hydrophone.)
