Piezo foil hydrophones – High-resolution ultrasonic measurement with flexible sensor technology

Piezo foil hydrophones are specialized acoustic sensors for detecting ultrasonic waves in liquids. In contrast to conventional piezoceramic sensors, they use extremely thin PZT foils (lead zirconate titanate) as the active sensor element. This technology enables a particularly compact design with a high bandwidth and excellent spatial resolution.

Typical applications can be found in medical imaging, material testing, acoustic research and calibration technology. Piezo foil hydrophones cover a wide frequency range from a few 100 kHz to over 70 MHz and offer high linearity and low self-resonance – ideal for precise, broadband measurement tasks.

Thanks to their small active area and minimal acoustic interference, piezo foil hydrophones can also be used in narrow measuring fields and sensitive environments. Optional integrated preamplifiers, 50 ohm outputs and pre-assembled power supplies ensure simple integration into existing measurement systems.

Piezo foil hydrophones are the first choice when it comes to precise, fast and spatially high-resolution ultrasonic measurements in demanding liquid applications.
