According to IEC 62127-1:2022, the frequency response of hydrophones must be compensated for by numerical impulse deconvolution in broadband ultrasonic pressure measurements. To date, measurement laboratories have been slow to implement this requirement. The aim is to significantly simplify the process for the user and thereby increase acceptance by integrating a deconvolution algorithm, in the form of a digital filter, directly into the hydrophone, or into an additional box between hydrophone and voltage acquisition device. A microprocessor is to be used to perform the filtering in real time according to the calibration data supplied. An interface is to enable the digital filter to be updated in accordance with recalibration data, for instance from a digital calibration certificate. This methodology offers several clear advantages, such as simpler and less error-prone data evaluation for the user, easier auditing of measurement laboratories as no in-house software development is required, more stable measurement results and a reduction of measurement uncertainties. A research funding application was recently submitted within the Horizon Europe Marie Sklodowska-Cure Actions programme.<\/p>\n

From October 4 to 8, 2026, the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS) took place in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. The conference brought together scientists, engineers, and companies from around the world to discuss the latest developments in ultrasound technology.
We presented our needle and membrane hydrophones, which enable precise measurement and characterization of ultrasound fields. This year, we placed particular emphasis on our acoustic field measurement services. We offer measurement and characterization of ultrasonic transducers on behalf of our customers. Our services include the determination of acoustic parameters such as sound pressure and intensity, as well as the detailed measurement and visualization of spatial acoustic field distributions using automated 2D and 3D scans. These services support our customers in the development, optimization, and quality assurance of their ultrasound systems.
The symposium provided an excellent opportunity to present our measurement technology and services to an international audience of experts. We particularly appreciated the personal discussions with visitors and potential customers, as well as the valuable exchange of ideas on individual measurement requirements and future projects.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
