Gemeinsam mit dem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imws.fraunhofer.de\/de\/kompetenzfelder\/optische-materialien1\/aktuelle-forschung\/ultraschall-separation-nanopartikel-analytik.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fraunhofer-Institut f\u00fcr Mikrostruktur von Werkstoffen und Systemen IMWS<\/strong><\/a> entsteht ein neues ultraschallgest\u00fctztes Separationstool, das die pr\u00e4zise Analyse von Nanopartikeln mittels Elektronenmikroskopie deutlich effizienter machen soll.<br \/>Nanopartikel bestimmen die Eigenschaften zahlreicher Produkte \u2013 von Elektronik \u00fcber Kosmetik bis hin zur Energietechnik \u2013 und unterliegen zugleich steigenden regulatorischen Anforderungen. F\u00fcr eine belastbare Einstufung als Nano- oder Nicht-Nanomaterial ist eine anzahlbasierte Partikelgr\u00f6\u00dfenverteilung \u00fcber einen gro\u00dfen Gr\u00f6\u00dfenbereich erforderlich. Bestehende Screening-Verfahren liefern diese Informationen nur eingeschr\u00e4nkt, w\u00e4hrend die Elektronenmikroskopie zwar sehr genau, jedoch bislang aufwendig in der Anwendung ist.<\/p><p>Hier setzt \u00bbUltraSep\u00ab an: Ziel des Projekts ist es, Agglomerate in trockenen Pulvern und Dispersionen mithilfe von Ultraschall aufzutrennen und die Partikel so zu verteilen, dass \u00fcberlagerungsfreie zweidimensionale Partikelverteilungen entstehen. Dadurch wird die Elektronenmikroskopie als Analysewerkzeug deutlich besser nutzbar \u2013 von der Materialentwicklung bis zur regulatorischen Absicherung.<\/p><p><strong>GAMPT verantwortet im Projekt die Entwicklung der ultraschallbasierten Hardwarekomponenten.<\/strong> Dazu geh\u00f6ren ein speziell ausgelegter Ultraschallgenerator, passende Aktoren sowie Probenhalter, die sich direkt in bestehende Pr\u00e4parations- und Analyseworkflows integrieren lassen. Durch die gezielte Variation von Frequenz, Intensit\u00e4t und Anregungsmustern soll eine effektive Separation von Nanopartikeln \u00fcber einen Gr\u00f6\u00dfenbereich von wenigen Nanometern bis in den zweistelligen Mikrometerbereich erm\u00f6glicht werden.<\/p><p>Am Fraunhofer IMWS wird der entwickelte Prozess mithilfe der Rasterelektronenmikroskopie validiert. Erg\u00e4nzend entsteht eine KI-gest\u00fctzte Bildauswertung, die Partikel automatisch segmentiert und charakterisiert \u2013 unter anderem hinsichtlich Partikelgr\u00f6\u00dfe, Abmessungen und Aspektverh\u00e4ltnis \u2013 und die Ergebnisse als anzahlbasierte Verteilung ausgibt. So entsteht ein durchg\u00e4ngiger Workflow von der Probenvorbereitung bis zur auswertbaren Statistik.<\/p><p>Das Projekt zielt auf einen marktf\u00e4higen Prototyp, der als Erg\u00e4nzung zu bestehenden Elektronenmikroskopen eingesetzt werden kann, insbesondere bei Pulverherstellern und -verarbeitern in Branchen wie Pigment-, Batterie-, Keramik- oder Kosmetikindustrie. Mit der Entwicklung der ultraschallgest\u00fctzten Kernkomponenten leistet GAMPT einen wichtigen Beitrag zu einer effizienteren, pr\u00e4ziseren und praxisnahen
